“Calima” is conceived as the pure and direct expression of the spirit of contradiction that gives name to its cuisine: avant-garde, based on tradition. From the restaurant’s terrace on the beachfront you will enjoy an unforgettable view of the Mediterranean that extend to the coast of Africa. On the inside, the kitchen is separated by a glass wall, which gives the opportunity to observe the creation of real culinary works of art.

The warm colors of its contemporary décor and the mountains in the distance complement the unique experience of the evening, lunch or dinner: fruits of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, Iberian pork, cold soups, traditional Andalusian products, tasting menus, home-made pastry and a complete wine list.

Dani García is the culinary star of the South of Spain, a consecrated chef with two Michelin stars. The cuisine that he offers in the Calima is exciting, intelligent and fresh, noted for its fresh ingredients and impeccable preparation. It is a playful cuisine, with repeated references to the Andalusian experience of the sea, the sky, the mountains and the sand.

Although he also works with meat, shellfish is clearly his specialty and his inspiration. Sea bass “just like on the beach; first to smell and then to eat” is a homage to the barbecues on the beach of his childhood in Marbella, a simple brochette of sea bass served on a bed of carbon and dark sand from the nearby beach.

He confesses that 80% of his menu is based on history and cites his memories as one of the three most important pillars of his culinary philosophy, together with taste and technical excellence. García elevates traditional popular cuisine to a new level, and he continues to perfect it with his celebrated experiments, such as his interpretation of classic fried specialties. This experience is topped off by an encyclopedic wine list with varieties from all over the world.
